Sorry all you Paul McCartney fans out there, but I have decided that I hate him. In fact a number of us here in my place of work have decided that he doesn’t warrent anything like the credit which he craftily harvested from the fruits of other people’s genius. Agreed Ringo didn’t do us many favours with his Yellow Submarine atrocity, but I like Ringo. I don’t hate him, so all is cool on that front.
I remember watching some party on TV – I think it was the late Queen Mother’s 100th birthday – they hosted a big musical bash in the gardens of Buckingham Palace and the show was totally dominated by one elevated-eyebrow-catastrophic-egophile who decided that the whole nation wanted to sit through a prolonged rendition of some of the Beatles’ worst ever creations.. Please, oh please don’t ever let that happen again.
You are absolutely right. We must get up and stand up, stand up for our right to hate Paul McCartney!

There is a whole group of us here in Bournemouth who hate Paul M too. Top of our list is the rendition of Ebony and Ivory where Stevie Wonder sounds cool until ‘you know who buts in and ruins it’ 2nd singing at the Queens birthday Happy Birthday your Majesty – cringingly horrible. Next must be Band on the Run which they kept playing on BBC 1 recently and we had to turn it off every time. Theres a whole lot more but I have to go now.

why hate him? what did he done to you? he’s a good song-writter and he has a awesome voice. he’s a great musican. he’s just lovely.
McCartney is past it and should have been knackered years ago. His latest gripe with the Dalai Lama eating meat really gets on my wick. I am also vegetarian but I don’t force my lifestyle onto others.
